2015… What A Summer!

A Spectactular Start To A New Look Of JKB EEF!

Things couldn’t have gone better for JKB EEF…

Headquartering the program at Monmouth College turned out to be a winner. The campus and its facilities were a perfect match from the dorm to the leadership training room and surrounding area to the food and private dining area to the impressive Huff Athletic Center and all it offered to our athletes. Each week the kids’ response was the same…this campus is perfect! A special thanks goes out to Karen Ogorzalek, Associate Dean of Students and to Ryan Doyle, Asst. Director of Campus Events, Camps & Conferences, for their unending help in making sure everything worked and that we had everything we needed during our 4 weeks at Monmouth. They gave the word “accommodating” a new meaning that was off the charts. Many thanks!

Horn Field Campus at Western Illinois University provided a ROPES Teams Course that was perfect for reinforcing learned skills…leadership, teamwork, communication skills, relationship-building and much more. We started and ended the day with all 20 on the same initiative. It proved to be really interesting! For most of the initiatives, though, we returned to our two groups of 10. Although it was extremely muddy (so much rain each week!), we had fun and the growth of knowledge and skills during that day was significant.

Of course, nothing would have been the same without Bill Walker teaching the curriculum. It was his 20th year of impacting and influencing JKB EEF participants like only he can do. He’s the best! Click on the link to see pictures of all 4 sessions. It’s filled with scores of smiling faces.

JKB EEF girls writing their own love letters…..

This past summer, Jillie conducted her Love Letters to Yourself workshop during both girls’ weeks. The girls were riveted on every word and started their own letter to themselves while at Monmouth College. Jillie will be conducting her workshop at Naperville North High School as well as Hinsdale Central High School. Her sessions with the girls were powerful and engaging and left each girl empowered & ready to rediscover their power, their worth and their voice. At 16, Jillie said she wanted to save the world…I think she’s on her way to doing just that, one woman at a time!
